Nimbus Work-Flow

A significant point of difference with Nimbus is in the approach to providing business solutions. There is a focus on sustained improvement in productivity rather than simply providing "ledgers."

Nimbus is designed around Work-Flow which is a recognised Business Engineering Technology defined as “business process management”. Work-Flow technology is a proven and effective tool in delivering improved productivity through the identification and implementation of best business practice.

Nimbus Consultants will help clients review the way work is currently done - and help identify and map the way work should be done to achieve the greatest efficiency.

Features of Nimbus Work-Flow

  • Work-Flow guides and manages the way people work
  • Automates and manages tasks, activities and transactions
  • Challenges concepts and procedures identifying the best processes to produce the most successful outcomes
  • Preferred business processes are imbedded in the application for greater operational efficiency in an integrated solution
  • Integrated solution means the data entered will automatically produce accounting / financial results from the processed activity or task
  • Nimbus consultants configure solutions to fit business needs
  • Processes are managed by Projects, Jobs, Tasks or Activities
  • Non-financial Details may also be recorded for each process
  • Financial data such as budgets, costs and income are recorded for each Project, Job, Task or Activity

Cost savings

There are significant cost savings with automated Work-Flow through improved identification of staff resource requirements and utilisation. There is less training (and re-training) required as the desired procedure is mapped into Nimbus and then documented. An integrated and automated Work-Flow management solution allows information to move through the organisation, without an employee necessarily having to understand the entire reasons for what is involved. They just need to understand their role.

With Work-Flow, the tasks, operations and processes are mapped and embedded into the software guiding the user through the steps and programs, which means that nothing is lost or forgotten along the way. The process is always completed because the necessary activities are all tied into the system.

This ensures that all the Creditor invoices are included prior to a job being closed off for invoicing and that the correct goods and services are charged against the correct job or quote. In addition there are the benefits derived from better control of the work, saving of management time and improved productivity of the staff.

Management Control

With improved processes and procedures in place there is far greater scope for management to determine and address priorities. This assists job allocation and supervision. And because the Nimbus application is fully integrated, timely and accurate, Work in Progress reporting allows management intervention to effect change before its too late.

Process Improvement Opportunity

In striving for efficiency a work process should always be under review. This has the potential of the greatest improvements in the way we work. Sometimes the changes are dramatic and in other instances they may be small but the cheapest improvement to the “bottom line” will come from better utilisation of resources

Intangible Benefits

Improved Customer Service
Efficient processes mean that the best person does the correct job and it is done completely including all the essential administration.

Improved Employee satisfaction
Staff enjoy being on top of their work. Improved efficiency means better organisation resulting in them knowing exactly what needs to be done and when, allowing them to focus on the quality of the work in hand.

The Solution Plan

This analysis of the Work-Flow process is called the Solution Plan, which includes the Work-Flow mapping. It is the planning and consultation phase of the implementation process. In conjunction with the key client resources, the major operational tasks are identified and documented. Based on the key objectives of the tasks undertaken, the best business practice is identified and the processes and procedures necessary to deliver the most productive result is detailed. Only once this process is completed can the client and Nimbus agree on exactly what services and functionality is required to be purchased and delivered.

How it Works

Remove uncertainty and guarantee results:
Nimbus Consultants will then build the screen forms that reflect the processes identified. Configuration includes setup menus and sequences according to process and user. The results are tested with a “systems pilot” to verify that the procedures are best practice. They are then formally documented as they are delivering the results that were identified during the development of the solution. The procedure requires a review the processes to adjust and amend where necessary prior to “go live.”
